近日，我校丘成桐中心副主任王栓宏教授，在国际著名数学期刊《Advances in Mathematics》（AiM）上，以独立通讯作者身份，与比利时鲁汶大学Alfons Van Daele教授合作发表长达68页的学术论文:“Duality for weak multiplier Hopf algebras with sufficiently many integrals”。据统计，这是数学学院基础数学团队，也是以我校数学学院和丘成桐中心同时为署名単位，在AiM上发表的第一篇论文。这说明东南大学在基础数学研究方向上迈出了一个新的台阶。该杂志1961年创刊，期刊聚焦数学全领域的重点研究和前沿进展。
这篇文章是王栓宏教授2004年在比利时鲁汶大学做博士后时，制定的基础数学研究课题“Pontryagin对偶理论”的一部分。他与合作者历经20年的辛苦研讨，系统建立了“弱代数量子群理论”，由4篇论文，共250多页组成，其中包括了2015年发表在另一国际著名数学期刊《J. Reine Angew. Math.》 (Crelles Journal，1826年创刊)上的54页论文。
审稿人与编委认真审阅论文并给予了很高评价：“这篇论文的结果是原创的，明显超出了现有水平，当然也引起了同行的兴趣。基于该理论统一了几个已经有广泛应用的理论这一事实，很明显，这里给出的结果可以在数学的广阔领域产生深远的应用和影响。”（“The results of the paper are original, go clearly beyond the state of the art and certainly are of interest for the community. Based on the fact that the theory unifies several theories that already have a wide range of applications, it stands clear that the results presented here can have far reaching applications and implications on a vast area of Mathematics…”)最终该论文被推荐发表：“I advice the paper to be accepted for publication. I consider the obtained results to be very strong, original and valuable for a large audience in view of the wide variety of common algebraic structures to which the presented results can be applied.”
事实上，王栓宏教授与合作者建立的这套理论的第一篇论文发表后，就已经引发国际同行的深入研究，同行的后继论文也发表在AiM和《Trans. Amer. Math. Soc.》等期刊上。以上这些成果的认可，激励王栓宏教授与他的在校博士生们将在该领域进行更深入的研究，有望得到丰硕成果。
